Hi. I’m Darren and I’m a street photographer based in deepest, darkest (only coz someone keeps pinching the bulbs out of street lamps) south London.
This is my little rented corner of the world wide web and I where blog about my personal street photography and street photography in general to anyone who’s interested enough to read from time-to-time.
I’ve been a photographer of sorts for as long as I can remember and shooting “seriously” since I got my first SLR as a teenager back in the mid 1980s. I’d been aware of the term “street photography” for many years, but it wasn’t until I went fully digital (my camera’s that is, I’m not like a south London Tron) in about 2004 did I really start shooting street photography with any real purpose, but it wasn’t really until about 2007 did I start capturing photos that I’m happy to label as “street photography” today.
My street photography has been largely published online and in print in the likes of JPG Magazine, Time Out London, The Guardian Weekend Magazine and at the London Olympics 2012 closing ceremony. I also had 3 street photos exhibited at the Mall Galleries in central London.
Away from street photography I’m an award winning documentary wedding photographer and a contributor to both Getty Images and Alamy. I am also a fiction writer, aspiring screenwriter, music nerd and West Ham fan.
